A camping weekend for the Sunsetcrew community. Three days in nature. Make friends. Explore the Northern Rivers together. Leave different.
The kind of people who go camping with strangers are exactly my kind of people.

For as little as $49.99 you get three days in nature, going on adventures with strangers who all showed up for the same reason. This is the most inclusive, accessible event we run — we want everyone to be here.

At a recent We're All Humans session, I asked the group what's something they've always wanted to create. My answer: a festival for friend making. But instead of music or drinking, you just know that everyone at the campsite is there to meet people and have real conversations.
That's Sunsetville. And it's something I've always wanted to build.
I picture hundreds of people at a campground in the Northern Rivers — all of them there to explore, connect, make friends, and just be human together. Playing instruments around the fire. Playing games. Telling stories. Going on adventures to places they've never been. Three days in nature, doing what humans have done for millions of years.
What I love most about Sunsetcrew is the diversity — the hiker, the café wanderer, the fire person, the one who wants to dance at a live music pub. Sunsetville is built for all of them. You choose how you spend your Saturday. We match you with the people heading the same way. Everyone comes back to camp at night. The fire is lit. The stories come out.
We want this to be the most welcoming, inclusive event we host. For as little as $49.99 you get three days in nature, going on adventures with strangers who all showed up for the same reason. Connection doesn't need to be complicated. It just needs the right environment.
This is the best version of Sunsetcrew you can experience. Come find out for yourself.
You've been wanting to explore the Northern Rivers but never had the right people to go with
You want more than a morning event — you want three days where real friendships have time to form
You love nature, hiking, good food, or just being outside away from your normal routine
The idea of going camping with strangers genuinely excites you
You've been to a Sunsetcrew event and thought — I wish this lasted longer
You want to do things with people, not alone — and you want those people to be genuinely interesting
You've been to our events. You know what this community is. Now imagine three days of it, in one of the best parts of Australia.
Before the weekend we match you into a crew of 12 based on your interests and how you want to spend Saturday. Find your crew's hand-painted sign at camp. That's home base. Introduce yourself. The weekend has started.
Byron Lighthouse. Minyon Falls. Nimbin. Tea Tree Lakes. Crystal Castle. Rail Trail. You go with the people who chose the same thing. There is no better way to make a friend than doing something you both actually wanted to do.
Brunswick Hotel for live music. Piano bar in Byron. Mt Warning Hotel. Kiva Spa at Mullum. Or stay at the campfire. Head straight to your venue, no meetup at camp needed.
The community pile is lit. Stories from the day come out. Someone hiked to a waterfall. Someone found a coffee shop in Nimbin they'll never forget. By this point you've spent a full day with new people in one of the most beautiful parts of Australia. Something happens around that fire.
One last moment together for those who want it. Pack up, swap numbers, drive home feeling like you actually did something with your weekend.
Each crew has their own campfire section. You can have a fire at your spot or wander over to join another crew. We provide a communal firewood pile you can grab from freely. If you have firewood or a source for more, you're welcome to bring a chainsaw, an axe, or a ute full of wood. Collecting sticks around the campground and adding to the pile is part of the Sunsetville spirit. The more we give, the warmer the night.
Ancient rainforests. Colourful villages. Sacred waterfalls. Incredible food. Coast and hinterland. Pick your top three from each session when you buy your ticket — we match you with people heading the same way.
Morning adventures Meet at your activity's spot from 10am · Head out together as a group
Coffee first, then walk up to Australia's most easterly point. Ocean views, coastal track, iconic lighthouse.

Flat, scenic ride through cane fields and hinterland with Mt Warning as your backdrop. Bikes available to hire.

Breakfast at Suffolk Park Bakery then the magical dark amber tea tree lakes. A local favourite.

The most colourful, one-of-a-kind village in Australia. Rainbow Street, coffee, art, and an energy unlike anywhere else.

Towering crystal formations, lush subtropical gardens, and a genuinely otherworldly hinterland atmosphere.

A 100-metre waterfall drop into pristine rainforest gorge. One of the most spectacular walks in NSW.

Sleep in. Brew a coffee. Find a hammock. Swim in the pool. Sometimes the best morning is the one with nowhere to be.

Brunswick Heads' legendary pub. Cold drinks, great food, live music in a town that still feels like old Australia.

Byron's most atmospheric evening venue. Live piano, good vibes, food and drinks in the heart of Byron.

Classic hinterland country pub. Cold beers, hearty food, and the laid-back atmosphere the Northern Rivers is known for.

Outdoor thermal pools, cold plunge, sauna in a lush garden. Book directly with Kiva in advance.

Stay, tend the community fire, watch the stars come out over the rainforest. The best evening is sometimes right where you are.

Far enough to feel like a real escape. Close enough for spontaneous afternoon trips to Byron, Brunswick Heads, and the hinterland.

"Sitting around the bonfire at my first Sunsetcrew camping trip, surrounded by people who actually wanted to be there. I felt my spark come back."
You've been showing up to Sunsetcrew events. This is that, but for a whole weekend, in one of the most beautiful parts of Australia, with people who chose the same adventures as you. Bonfires. Stories. New friends. No phone. Just humans being human. That's Sunsetville.
