This winter
There's something about wrapping your hands around a warm mug as the sun goes down over Burleigh that makes people open up. The cold does something — barriers drop, voices soften, and somehow you end up saying things you haven't said to anyone in a while.
We're bringing free hot chocolate to every Wednesday session through winter. You bring the mug. We'll bring the warmth, the questions worth asking, and the kind of people you'll actually want to sit next to.

A space built for everyone
From the very first session, this was designed to be a space where everyone belongs. Not just people who look a certain way, come from a certain place, or are at a certain point in life. Every human, full stop.
Any age. Any background. Any fitness level. Any nationality. Whether you've lived on the Gold Coast for 20 years or landed three weeks ago — you belong here exactly as you are.
Over 100 nationalities have attended. Most Wednesdays you'll sit next to someone whose life looks completely different to yours. That's the whole point.
How it started
So he started showing up to the beach every Wednesday and inviting strangers to talk about something real. No agenda. No charge. Just people being people.
That first group of a handful has now grown to thousands. The format has evolved, the community has grown, but the reason it exists hasn't changed — to make it easier to have the kind of conversations that actually matter.
Every week, a new topic
Each week we pick one topic — it could be health, balance, the chapter of life you're in, AI, fear, purpose, relationships, play. Something worth actually thinking about.
Around that topic we build games, questions and activities to help everyone meet, connect and leave having learned something new. There's always something new — and always something worth coming back for.
No booking, no sign-up, no awkward registration desk. Just arrive at Burleigh from 5pm. Someone will find you — we always do.
We use guided prompts and activities to get past the usual small talk. Questions about what actually matters to people.
You're introduced to one person first. Then a few more. Then a few more after that. Deliberately gradual — less overwhelming, more like how friendships actually form.
Most Wednesdays a group heads for dinner after. Nothing organised — just people who don't want the conversation to stop yet.
A sunny spot and a covered wet weather area at Burleigh. We've never cancelled a Wednesday. Not once in over 4 years.
No ticket, no entry fee, no catch. We're All Humans is free every week. Just bring yourself — and a mug this winter.

Absolutely — we're down at Burleigh from 5pm to 7pm every single Wednesday. We'd rather you be late than not there at all. Show up whenever you can and you'll be welcomed and introduced to the session regardless of when you arrive. No awkward catch-up required.
Absolutely — and honestly, this is one of the best places to do it. It's real conversation in a friendly environment, with people who genuinely understand what it's like to be new somewhere. Many of our regulars have been exactly where you are. You'll be welcomed and you'll be heard.
That's one of the questions we get asked every single week — and the answer is always the same. Old is just a mindset. You are absolutely welcome regardless of your age. Every session has people from all different walks of life sitting in the same circle, and that's exactly what makes the conversations worth having.
If you'd like a hot chocolate or tea, bring a mug or a cup. If you get cold in the evenings, bring a jumper and some warm layers. If you'd rather not sit on the sand, bring a towel or a blanket. Those are all just for your comfort — you can absolutely show up exactly as you are, and that is enough.
